Removed control and found connnector at sealing blown out and sitting at an angle causing connector to not sit properly resulting in intermittantly working. Contacted techline and spoke to Rich he had me attempt to remove but unable to remove and all it did was damage connector. Product has been submitted for an exchange and whirlpool will reach out to cx for next steps. No further work needed

"cx complaint is the unit making a burning rubber smell. no saved codes. inspected under unit. grey liquid dripping from capacitor, the pulley has a lot of black marks from belt slipping. i tried running a servie cycle. as soon as start was pressed the drum started spinning, water started filling and lid kept locking/unlocking. smoke began coming up from console. i cancelled and unplugged unit. found thermal damage to control. called techline to document. they advised replacing belt, splutch capacitor and control board at the same time. replaced all needed parts with preIDs and a VS capacitor. restored power and waited 3min. verified mod/ser info is saved. ran calibration and service cycle. unit completed cycles with no issues. working as designed.; ordrng 1 W11395618 (capacitor VS SB), used 1 W11395618 (CAPACITOR) from stock"

Removed the blanket,l ran a diag cycle to calibrate and clear codes. Everything is working as designed in diagnostics. Put blanket back in on a drain and spin and unit spun it out and drained. "Customer complaint is that the unit leaked and is making random grinding noises. Unit only leaked the 1 times, has not happened since. Checked freezer compartment temperature and found it at 3. Inspection of the compressor compartment found the condenser fan and compressor are running, but the compressor is overheating. Compressor is failing internally. Suspect the unit stopped cooling altogether at one point, melting the ice which created the leak. No other evidence of water leaking found. The grinding the noise is the refrigerant bubbling through the system.
